Me and a friend are planning on going on a trip to Italy, but he was a DACA recipient. Would he be allowed back into the country if he left?

I've heard things about how some former DACA recipients can't leave the country or can't come back in after they've left. He has a U.S. passport but I'm still obviously concerned for his sake.

Update:

Please pay no attention to this question. I got the friend mention in this question confused with someone else.

I don't think he can until he gets a green card and then he will have to follow the rules of being a green card holder.

Under current management anything is probably possible... But in theory a US citizen can't be barred from entering the US.

DACA recipients do not have US passports

DACA recipients can sometimes get permission to exit the USA and return when there is a family crisis in their home country. The odds are your friend will NOT be allowed to return to the USA if they exit to go on vacation.
