I just got home from worship service. The last song was "God Bless America." What are your opinions on that.?

Government is not allowed to play favoritism towards one religion. Churches, because of their tax free status, are not allowed to get involved in politics. Patriotic songs are not getting involved in politics.

...sure. American currency states in God we trust. Unfortunately there has never been separation of church and state.

I guess in America its okay to combine politics and religion.

Can you remember the "Pledge Of Allegiance"? It includes "One nation under God" .

All Christian religions say the Pledge Of Allegiance in the USA. They are all here and with and "One Nation Under GOD"!

My opinion is that it is not working.

Being patriotic in church is not really a problem with separation, what is a problem is when a church espouses a political party and then considered the other party to be non-Christian or when the church advocates legislation that benefits the church only rather than advocating for legislation that benefits all religions.

Then you don't understand what separation of church and state means.

Separation of church and state aside, patriotism and following Jesus do not mix.

If you are concerned about separation of church and state, consider that the word "God" is in the title of the song. What is wrong with saying "God bless this entire country we live in"?
