Why do democrats refer to Pete Buttigieg as that "gay mayor from South Bend" ?

It's the tragic reality of identity politics.

Well, he doesn't seem to like women too much.....

"Mayor Pete" is the mind-blowingly brilliant 39-year-old Pete Buttigieg's nickname, and it is Candidate Buttigieg who speaks frankly about his homosexuality, and his marriage to a college professor husband, but this is not the sole focus of Mayor Pete's campaign. He speaks seven languages fluently, plays both guitar and piano, the latter played well enough that Major Pete has sat in with the Indiana Symphony Orchestra for the piano solo, and has served with distinction in military intelligence in Afghanistan before becoming mayor of an ordinarily Republican-dominated South Bend, Indiana. I'm very impressed with this young man, but I lean more to Senator Elizabeth Warren and her "I have a plan for that" campaign, with a back up interest in Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), Joe Biden, and a few others.

That is what conservatives refer to "mayor Pete" as, not Democrats.

He makes a lot more sense that Beto but a gay politician should not have a last name you can't pronounce that starts with Butt.

They don't.

All that matters to them is that he sucks wiener.

That's his only "qualification"
