Bowne House Museum was a stop on the underground railroad and maintains a library on the subject. Check with them

Argues in opposition? Opposition to what? The underground railroad (not a physical railroad) was a way that very courageous people helped slaves escape. There are some very interesting and little known stories about the people along the way. Do some googling and you'll find them.
