What would cause my left leg to be slightly purple and cold to the touch?

I've noticed that my left leg is starting to turn slightly purple and cold to the touch with it being worse later in the day. Any ideas what it could be? I already have an appointment set up with a physician in a couple days.

    Keep that doctor's appointment.

Worst case is that you've got some kind of blood clot. This can break loose, and travel to your heart or brain - where it might kill you. (This is more likely if you tend to get little exercise, or have recently been on a long airplane ride.)

Start wearing boxers, your tighty whities are cutting off circulation.

I'm not trying to scare you, but you need to call your doctors' office NOW and tell them exactly what's happening. It could be a blood clot.
