how do we keep cats from going into our rooms when we don't want them too enter?

    I put up baby gates to keep them from entering areas I don't want them to go into. They can learn to jump over them so get one as tall as you can.

    Apart from the smart answers here, try a simple spray bottle of water. Spritz it on them to run them off.

    Keep the door shut all the time. If the cat starts meowing and scratching at the closed door like mine used to, spray it with scratch deterrent that you can get at pet stores
