What kind of idiot doesn’t put butter in a sandwich?

I only use that if i make a grilled cheese sandwich. Butter is not the answer to everything.

Then there are 100s of 1000s of idiots out there because this is the number of people who prefer to eat their sandwiches without spreading something on the bread first.

All sorts of us idiots who eat PB&J, reubens, roast beer au jus, hamburgers . . . .

Just because you like butter and others don't does not make them idiots! I never put butter in a sandwich, NEVER! I fry a grilled cheese sandwich with margarine though. Actually there are a few sandwiches I grill/fry with margarine, but there is never a need to put butter in a sandwich!

You have a very small, unimaginative mind. Many people prefer mayonnaise or mustard or even an oil and vinegar dressing. Butter is expensive, high-fat and an animal product. Not everything tastes good with butter (I'll put butter on a ham sandwich, but not on a liverwurst or salami sandwich, for instance). What kind of idiot puts butter on every sandwich?

I never even heard of butter on a sandwich until a few years ago. Must be a local thing. I know none of the fast food places put butter on their sandwiches. (Again, maybe they do where you live).

I certainly wouldn't like a sandwich that contains no replacement for butter. It's too dry without some sort of spread.

Many people are allergic to dairy and margarine has been found to be terribly unhealthy for us. Personally I use extra virgin olive oil as a replacement. It tastes good and is nutritious.

There are some sandwich fillings that do not require bread to be buttered, likewise there are some bread types that when fresh are very nice to eat without any kind of spread on them. But run of the mill bread can taste horrible if eaten without a spread to coat the pieces .

Butter is awesome but let's face it some people just don't need any extra fat.
