What are the best vegetables to plant in the heat of summer (Zone 6)?

    For zone 6, plant broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, lettuce, peas, spinach in July/early Aug for fall harvest.

    *other veggies take longer and die from exposure to frost/cold before they are ready to harvest.
