Do not waste your money on garlic salt. Get granulated garlic or fresh garlic instead.

Sometimes you do not want to put added salt into your food. Garlic Salt has a lot of salt in it.

Don't buy garlic salt, buy garlic powder. I buy the biggest container I can find because it's the cheapest per ounce & I use a LOT of garlic.

"Garlic Salt" is not really a thing for me. I have garlic powder and I have salt because sometimes a dish needs more of one, but not the other. On top of this, "Garlic Salt" is a ripoff....literally a large portion of the bottle is very cheap salt. It's better to spend the same amount on garlic powder. Garlic salt is perhaps the ultimate in laziness..."boohoo I can't be bothered to sprinkle two different things" (or do you mix your salt and pepper together in a bottle also?)

That being said, I always have three types of garlic on hand...powder, minced from a jar, and "fresh". Each has it's different purpose,

If you're all about "convenience", skip the garlic salt entirely. Instead, buy the bags that have 8-10 individually sealed heads of garlic that are already peeled and separated.

I agree with John. Its nothing special.

I prefer real garlic, either fresh or jarred in water and in a pinch, garlic powder.

It's just garlic and salt. Most garlic in America comes from Gilroy CA anyway. There is no best. You might just get lucky that your bottle was made in a better season. But unlike wine there's no real way to tell.

I really prefer granulated or even fresh crushed or jarred chopped or vacuum packed peeled garlic over garlic salt.

You can separately control salt and garlic to get far better results. I can't say if its more expensive bought separately but this small expense is well worth the money.
