What do you do if you're in the left lane on a highway and an emergency vehicle turns its lights on?

Think about it for a moment. The idea is to get out of the way of the emergency vehicle. Thus, if it's behind you, just move to the lane on your right out of its way If it's in another lane already to your right don't pull in front of it!

Here we don't have a pull to the left or pull to the right rule. Drivers are simply expected to get out of the way, in whatever fashion they can safely do. If you can't safely do so wherever you are you might accelerate to get to a place where you can. Emergency drivers are taught not to expect other drivers to break the law for them, though often people will by for instance pulling through red lights IF IT IS SAFE.

Just do what you can to safely get out of the way.

You shouldn't be driving in the far Left lane anyway. That lane is commonly known as the passing lane, and should be used ONLY when passing slower vehicles.

As soon as you have passed the slower vehicle in front of you, move over to one of the lanes to the right. In some states, it's the law. In others, it's just common courtesy.

You move to the left, therefore giving it room to pass between you and the vehicle next to you.

Where is the vehicle? Behind you? If it's behind you, come on, common sense, you move to the other lane. The left lane is ONLY for passing, you shouldn't be there unless passing another vehicle.

If the emergency vehicle is directly behind you you only need to move right one lane. If the EV is already in another lane, you just slow down a bit to make traffic more safe.
