Why do I have trouble falling asleep at night?

I was sleeping fine before, but as of two days ago every time I get close to falling asleep, I immediately wake back up. I lay in bed for hours with my eyes closed and not moving(only turning when the urge is too strong to resist), and nothing helps. The most I ve gotten is 3 hours each night here and there but never more than that at any given time.

Drink a cup of warm Chamomile tea at bedtime. No snacks, food, beverage, alcohol, exercise or any strenuous activity (like sex) 2 hours before bed. No screen time (TV, phone, computer, tablet) an hour before bed. Dim the lights, read a book or bore yourself to sleep.

Hmm... this is common. Ask your GP. (It can be for many reasons...)
