Jesus says to consider following Him as similar to going up against an army of 20000s with an army of 10000s; why the disparity of #'s?

Luke 14:26 - 35 gives the context for this seemingly out-numbered comparison.

Why is following Jesus likened by Him to going against an army of 20,000's of soldiers with an army of merely 10,000's of soldiers?

Yeshua bar Yosef was a would-be revolutionary. I can't stress that enough. He wanted to literally drive the Romans out of Israel.

Don't think that is what that is saying.

(Luke 14:31-33) 31 Or what king marching out against another king in war does not first sit down and take counsel whether he is able with 10,000 troops to stand up to the one who comes against him with 20,000? 32 If, in fact, he cannot do so, then while that one is yet far away, he sends out a body of ambassadors and sues for peace. 33 In the same way, you may be sure that not one of you who does not say good-bye to all his belongings can be my disciple.

In other words count the cost? Not sure

I don't know, that seems very limiting. Only twice as powerful? I'd imagine an all powerful god would be more like 1 vs infinite armies
