How often do childhood friendships last into adulthood? do a lot of them not last into adulthood?

i'm asking this question, because i'm desperate for validation in the sense that i'm not alone in this situation, who else can relate to this?

Sadly, i'm no longer in touch with any of my childhood friends, the friendships fizzled out due to attending different schools, growing apart or drifting apart from each other.

Very few people keep the same group of friends for life. You will find adults who are still friendly with their college roommate or something like that. But not many are still palling around with folks they knew in Kindergarten.

Some do, some don't. People move around the country and the world and lose touch. I regularly spend time with my friend who I met when our Mums went to the local park, when we were toddlers. We have been friends for over 60 years. Don't though give up, as school friends can come back into your life, later in life.

Most of them do not make it into adulthood. After all, they were formed on the accidental fact that your parents lived in the same school district neighborhood. As you move into adulthood, most friendships are based on shared interests or choices YOU have made. It's possible we carry one or two lifelong friendships. Living your entire life with your childhood friends usually only happens if some of you never move out of the neighborhood. But most people DO move out of the neighborhood.
