Why do some couples say “we are pregnant”?

Last time I checked, only the woman can get pregnant.

Well, he's more lumbered than she is. She could choose to abort but he doesn't have that option. She will carry the baby for 9 months but he will carry the child AND mother for 20 years. The correspondent term for the man should be "trapped".

Probably better to say "we're expecting"... but whatever. I guess they just want to include each other in the process. Most of us know only the female is ACTUALLY pregnant, but the man is very much so still involved (or at least I sure hope so since it's his baby too).

When a couple announces they are pregnant what they mean is they are expecting a baby.

Because while the woman is the one carrying the child the man helped her become pregnant.

Marriage is an agreement between a man and a woman to start a family and raise children. A man and a wife are a "single" entity in this regard. LEGALLY...and TRADITIONALLY.
