It's going to happen.
Currently we have the "Yay, we can have economic success" generation.
The next generation will be the "I want mine too" generation
and the Chinese Government will HAVE to change into something much more closely resembling a capitalist democracy
or
suffer rebellion and fracturing of the nation into several smaller nations.

It’s not feasible for county’s bigger than a couple hundred thousand population, to have a pure democracy. Much better to have a Republic, as we do in the USA. And yes, they should change from Communism, to become Capitalist.

The people of Hong Kong and their supporters on the mainland think so. A representative republic at least.
