    The arrow shows the direction of energy transfer up the food chain. In crude terms the arrow points from an organism to what eats it or takes its energy.

    a. Ticks ---> moose - Means moose eat ticks, so no.

    b. Sun ---> buds ---> ticks - Means buds get energy from the sun (fine), but that ticks eat buds, so no.

    c. buds ---> moose ----> ticks - Means ticks get their energy from moose, moose from buds and buds from sun, so yes.
