Ezekiel was contemporaneous with that other great prophet, Isaiah, and both their books show this same glorious truth about who God sends.

But they also show that when there is no man in the breach to carry out His judgments, His "own arm worked salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me. I trampled the nations in my anger; in my wrath I made them drunk and poured their blood on the ground." (Isaiah 63:5-6) "I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so that I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own head all they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord." (Ezekiel 22:30-31).

These verses speak of judgment and wrath. It is interesting to see that God's salvation is shown in His judgments, however. Pause for thought? But your question...

Isaiah 59 gives insight. "The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no-one, he was appalled that there was no-one to intervene; so his own arm worked salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him. He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head. He put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak."

Then He deals with His enemies, but verse 20 adds, "The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins" declares the Lord. And, again in 62:11, "See, your Savior comes" and then those He saves are called "The Redeemed of the Lord". We should all know who this Savior is!

"See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and his arm rules for him." (Isaiah 40:10)

"The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God" (Isaiah 52:10)

"I give [my sheep] eternal life and they shall never perish. No-one can snatch them out of my hand... no-one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one." (John 10:28-30)

Jesus is not God's right-hand man - Jesus is the Arm of the Lord, mighty to save! Therefore, to glorify the Lord Jesus is to glorify the Father, as Jesus said in John 5:22-23.
