I've always found it ironic in the US that an 18 year old woman can be filmed taking multiple men into any orifice, and have her face blasted with multiple loads - but if she walks into a bar, she can't legally be served alcohol.

Ages of consent are arbitrary, but the goal is to err on the side of caution to avoid exploitation of minors.

You CAN, in the UK....16 is the age of consent.

I assume you are in a country that has a minimum age of 18 to be in a porn movie.

If that is so, then that is why. If the law enforcers said okay 17 is close to 18 then someone will argue that 16 is also close to 17 and 15 is just short of 16 and so it will go. The only way to stop this is to have an age and that is it.

To be fair, if 17 is close to 18, then surly for your viewing pleasure 18 should do.
