    Let's face facts, that's not going to happen in The UK, and even less in the US.  We can't even put fuel up by 10p a litre without outright revolts starting

    Well for as long as I continue to be able to drive (physically and financially), there's NOBODY who will part me from my car - and unless somebody buys me an electric one, that won't happen either.

    I believe that restricting population growth (however that can be done in third-world countries ???) is more relevant.  The planet can't continue to support the number of humans forever.  In the past, we had Wars that tended to keep a population in check but that's not a great option!  We didn't contribute to the population, for various reasons.
