Why is it considered weird, creepy, or street harassment to just say "hello" to random women you pass by (or pass you)?

Nothing wrong with saying hello, unless of course you have your willy hanging in the breeze at the same time.

Weird nothing, I think it's great, just as long as the guy doesn't turn around and come after me.

Only uptight fake acting beat faced beastly acting millennial females  24-35 years old care about that kind of petty crap. Truth is... Feminism exists because women weren't being treated equally in the first place. So... you can take out your "sexual harassment" cries on men who had abused women in the past.

Some people are just buttheads. If you don't smile or say hi they treat you Iike an a-hoIe or a criminal. If you do try to say heIIo or force a smiIe, they caII you a creep and complain about how it's so hard being a woman and that they need to stand up for themselves... over a smile. 

A short, polite “Hello” is fine. But I’ve seen guys say hello as they stare at a woman’s breasts or crotch - context makes that creepy af. 

It is weird to do that to a guy too. And most people who do that to women are doing it because they find that woman attractive. Its like they are trying to flirt with a stranger and that is weird. Also to some women it probably seems like you just look at them like they are a piece of meat.
