No.
Not all priests take that vow. A Catholic priest on CNN explained that priests who are strictly in a teaching capacity do not take a vow of celibacy, and that he never had to take a vow of celibacy himself. That being said, I still don’t think the Church would allow him to get married...

I'm not Roman Catholic.
Within the Roman Catholic church there ARE married priests. Men who are born into the Maronite and the Melkite rites may become married priests, though they have to marry before they are ordained. Also if a married Anglican priest converts to Roman Catholicism he may be re-ordained as a Catholic priest but may remain married.
So although the majority of Catholics have to choose celibacy to join the priesthood, there are exceptions which are permitted by the Roman Catholic Church. Thus no Catholic can say it is mandatory for every priest.

God didn't require priests to be celibate. Human members of the Christian church mandated them to be celibate in order to keep them from willing their possessions to their families. Now, they will their possessions to the church (it is a money thing....a mammon thing). The consequence is that "going forth and multiplying" is impossible for priests (who can no longer obey God's command). As a result, frustrated clergy have problems getting friendly with little boys.

Absolutely. And by the way, the rate of abuse is Much Higher among non-celibates. Allowing priests to marry is about as useful as putting out a fire with gasoline. The actual solution is far simpler: Catholic teaching forbids sexual immorality. Simply require priests and their superiors to behave like Catholics. So far, they've been letting us down.

Today there is another priest in the news for sexually assaulting a very young girl!!!!!!!!!!
Until the requirement to be celibate is removed they will not stop the perversion!

I think forcing priests to be celibate is a recipe for disaster, much like when virgins marry. Two huge errors.

Jesus clearly revealed His plan for His priesthood by choosing 12 out of 12 men as His first priests/bishops, and His Church therefore does not have the authority to change that divine command.

God enforces particularly high standards for priests, whose primary purpose is to offer sacrifice to God, on behalf of the faithful. In certain Catholic Rites, celibacy has long ago been repealed. But in every case, abstinence from sexual activity/chastity are still required of all active priests, just as it was in Old Testament times, for priests who were then currently active in Temple Ministry. Protestant preachers/ministers serve no such purpose, so they are not bound by traditional, priestly disciplines.

That whole thing started so that priests wouldn't have families who would inherit their property- to keep all the property for the church. It was born out of greed. And a lot of priests--- and Popes-- were well-known for having women on the side. There's a shortage of priests these days- it's wise of them to make a change to make the priesthood more attractive.

Whereas I am not a Catholic, I have some very strong opinions on this subject.
While it is not true that allowing priests to marry would reduce the number of child sexual abuse cases by 100%, it would reduce them by a good percentage.
