I sprained my neck as a child. Instead of seeking medical care my parents had their friends over to lay their hands on me and pray.?
I've had issues with my neck ever since then. If I had received proper medical attention, could it have prevented the pain I am having now?
It may seem a silly question but when I asked my dad about he said that once you sprain your tendons they are never the same again.

There is no way to know, but proper medical attention to an injury can prevent or lessen pain later in life.

Your parents, who are his religious friends? Who are these friends who presume to have prayed to God with prayer, and with the touch of their hands?
That's what the Lord taught us:
James 5:14-15.
14 Is anyone sick? Call the elders of the church and let them pray for him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 The prayer of faith will save the sick person and the Lord will restore him; if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
So, the people who laid their hands on you were Christians? Did they use the prayer of faith? Faith makes God's hand work for every sick person, and it will heal him!

Yeshua ("Jesus") is our healer. Why you were not healed I do not know. I would suggest praying through this every day:

Well, your dad is probably right. Once you injure something, it may not always heal to 100%, and you are likely to have trouble with it for the duration. It happens all the time with and without proper medical care. And since it was just a sprain, there wasn't likely much to do about it anyway, other than instructions about limiting mobility while it heals. But even that doesn't always help.

You could still get cranial sacral therapy, might improve it.
Worth trying. Maybe they didn't have medical, and not ALL medical is good, either I think you need X Rays
We need it ALL.
Even though you went to medical, they can mess you up.
So, we need all, expertise, God's direction.

Sad that your parents were fundamentalist Protestants. The true Christian Church teaches that we do rely on God in difficult times, including medical problems, and that we make full use of whatever natural means God has allowed to be developed.
