Why do christians want to convert people?

I'm Hellenic Pagan(belief in greek "mythology" and worship aphrodite) and would never convert anybody because people can believe what they want and Its not my place.

That's true. Some believe in Bigfoot, the Earth is flat, and the Clinton's don't lie.

its been said, simply that it is the divine commission to be disciples and to go to the ends of the earth to get converts.

however, i question whether any christian today is actually one that has a duty of the divine commission. plainly, Jesus spoke to those that were "saints" (not sinners), or more likely to give apostles and elders such a divine commission. which was not necessarily given to the gentiles. go figure. ive been wondering if there is a difference between a world of Christians that are more rightly defined as all apostates rather than non Jewish, though Jesus himself was a Jew and declared to be an apostate. then again Jesus is the Messiah, Savior, redeemer and Lord and Judge of the Whole earth. and yet there were many people that were lied to and deceived by the religious leaders of his day to label Jesus as a false messiah. a "blasphemer"

it is because of the great commission Jesus gave to all disciples Mark 16:15,16 go into all the world and preach the gospel too every creature He who believes and is baptized will be saved but he who does not believe will be condemned.

James 5:19,20 brethren if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back let him know he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

We as Christians are building up treasures in heaven when we convert a sinner form the wide gate that leads to destruction. Thanks for the question.

Catholicism is the One True Faith and a person can know this with certainty by reciting the rosary every day with care and sincerity.
