Gas pedal stuck to the floor on ETC vehicle Forced Idle/Reduced Power Mode?

'03 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 V6 2wd w/ 150k. Started it the other day and a check engine and reduced power light. I've had the reduced power light before but never w/ a check engine also. Checked the code, p1290 - forced idle mode. I pulled out of the driveway and rolled around my neighborhood a bit. Pressing the gas pedal did nothing. I floored it and the pedal stayed depressed completely without my foot on it. I turned around and limped home. Barely made it up into the driveway. Turned the truck off and the pedal popped back out. Got in it today, still had the check engine but the reduced power light is gone and its runs fine. No throttle cable. It's electronic. "Possible fixes" are new throttle body/ ETC, new ECM, new TPS or new Accel pedal position sensor. Of course wiring could be causing it also. What would you look at first and what's more likely. Don't wanna throw parts at this intermitten issue. THX.

DTC P1290 is ETC Forced Idle Mode, which is a fail safe condition for the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC ) system, the "Reduced Power" lamp was illuminated because this DTC was set. The ECM can command Forced Idle Mode if it detects an anomaly in the ETC system. You may have a potential problem with the Acceleration Position sensor. DTC P1290 is not related to the EGR problem.

You named a bunch of things that need to be tested. Test them. Also check the MAP and related parts, including the throttle air snorkel for cracks.

Before sticking any money is a POS Isuzu I'd trade it in. The perfect time is this Friday night. All Christmas specials will still be offered at low prices and the salesmen want to get one more sale on their commission check they get next week. The salesmen will go to bat for you to get your offer accepted by their manger. I'd strongly advise you to quit buying Isuzu's!

sounds like you need a mechanic.
