In view of Ian Duncan Smith being honoured for ruining lives. See petition.

The honours list is an anachronism, flattering the vain and rewarding the timeservers. It should be abolished.
Everyone rewarded knows the true worth of their efforts without this sort of patronage.

No. The whole point of the honours list is it is incredibly cheap. You give somebody a funny name or title or tell them they can put some letters after their name, and they are pleased about it. They tell all their friends. The fact that there is no law against calling yourself (for example) 'screaming Lord Sutch'. or the Archimandrite of Tooting, or whatever, should give you some idea about how to award yourself an honour. [be careful about claiming to be a medical doctor or a policeman though]

No but its time really people who deserve it were honour, not a bunch of celebrities who only do things to further their career. Id like to see ordinary people who do good for their communities and others get them. Like our brave lifeboat crews or our emergency service workers, or people who have dedicated for many years their time to volunteering for good courses. Its people like this who deserve honouring.

It should be kept, but it should be limited to those who have really contributed to serving the country and its values, not just people who know how to bake cakes or make pop music.
