Why’s my friend acting like a jerk?

I have this college buddy of mine, and he wanted to hang out tonight. I told him no I’m too tired to go out I was out all day with my brother we went to the movies. So he asked hey do you want to go out I said no.. then 2 seconds later he says let’s go to Popeyes to get something to eat I said no I already ate. I had a burrito earlier. Then he said let’s go to the movies I’m on my way I said no bro I was out all day I don’t want to go out I just want to be home and relax before I  go to work.. then he gets all upset and says whatever and **** like that, and I’m thinking he’s joking and he’s like no I’m serious.. none of this makes sense... why do people have to make other people’s lives more stressful then it already is. I like handing out with him, but he doesn’t have to be rude about it..
