I suspect not very. There are many problems with the human body that are of greater overall importance, and those are the ones that get funding.

But consider, too, that Rogaine/minoxodil works for about a third of those who use it, and it's pretty recent. Clearly some research is being done.

You have to use Rogaine for a month or more to know if you're among the lucky third, and if you are, you have to continue to use it forever.
