Belief or Choice, what came first?

In the beginning, there was man and God.  It was not until man had sinned that he made his choice.

He was offered desire and temptation that caused a rift between he and God.  No more would mankind ever have this relationship he should have cherished with all his heart.

Not all people are the same. But if you say choose then a person with a scientific way of thinking will first analyse the belief from the data available and using logic and reasoning use the findings to make the choice. A person who is influenced by personalities such as charismatic figures. Others may have a mystical experience then they choose to believe. Of course if they are born into a religion they might later at some pint choose not to believe but if they do not then they did not choose they were just born into it and never questioned it.

Belief comes out of our superstitious mind, which is a component of being human. When confronted with having to die just from having been born, it's hard not to have a belief. So belief is an unconscious reaction to the threat of death and not really a choice.

The choice, i think. Super-health, shiny youth, comfortable wealth !

since when did we ever had a choice?

Belief is never a choice, it is an outcome of life and learning.

If you do not understand this, then 'choose to believe' that you are of the opposite religious stance. i.e. if you are a Christian, believe you are an atheist, if you are atheist, believe you are a Christian.

Do this for just 24 hours. It is OK, because will not be able to do it.

Believing is be-loving; what shapes loving is a function of several factors:  God, man, and nature.

We love to believe we have agency, or the ability to decide, and we do...at various levels and venues.  To contemplate one's choosing process re strawberry or vanilla ice cream is to encounter layers of influence.  If one goes more deeply into cause, one finds one's presence in the ice cream shoppe as a unique positioning based on a near-infinite set of factors of varying importance; then, there are further levels of atomicity, how Energy is geometrized, etc.  So, at some level, in physis (atomicity), there are forces upon which a realized soul may act.  At more personalized levels, there are forces such as memories of prior ice cream cones, etc.

I don't see why this would be important. Is that a belief or a choice?
