How do I apply for the Visa Waiver Program?

I can't make heads or tales on the U.S Gov. website, how do I apply for the Visa Waiver Program? I live in the U.K and I want to visit the U.S for a couple months and I was wondering how exactly I apply.

If you cannot follow directions on the ESTA website, heaven help you. Can you even manage to find your gate at Heathrow? It's not rocket science!

"Live in UK?" Need to be UK citizen (or citizen of other eligible country), not just reside there, to register for ESTA. Are you eligible for ESTA or not? What's your citizenship?

You don't apply; you simply do not need a visa to visit as a tourist the US. Make sue you have your passport, that is is good for at least 6 months after you plan to travel, book your trip, get on the plane and come visit. It really is that easy.

If you plan to drive while you are here, remember we drive on the other siode and you need an international drivers license.
