is this an infection? should I remove the ring?

All legitimate piercing shops include aftercare advice. 

Ask them for advice if you cannot see your doctor.

Unfortunately your photo is not clear enough to tell whether that lump is due to infection or is a new keloid scar forming due to skin irritation. If you already know that you tend to get keloids then it’s highly possible that’s what you have and if so you will have to lose the piercing.

Pop along and see your local pharmacist,  they might be able to give you some advice. If not you'll need to see your G.P.

its not a keloid from what I can tell, but other than that cant really speculate.
