Why can't you just get a job and pay for your own health insurance?

The "rich" don't owe you anything.

Many people do have jobs that provide insurance and the insurance is one step above worthless.

Prior to the ACA, I could not get healthcare coverage.  I applied.  I was denied.  If I had gotten coverage, I could have had "rescission" at any point.  See the movie "Saw VI."  That's not "peace of mind."

When I was working, I had healthcare coverage through my employer.

It was no good.  It was $20,000 per year.  When I had a hospitalization my bill was $88,000.

Then my employer fired people until there were fewer than 50 employees.  At that point he wasn't required to have healthcare coverage, so he canceled the coverage so he wouldn't have to keep paying for COBRA.

Shenanigans like these are why we need a real national healthcare coverage, with real regulation of the industry.

At this point, you still can. However, if you don't want to take employer-provided healthcare, that's up to you.

You just don't get it, do you? Listen to Thomas Jefferson if you refuse to listen to me: "When the rich oppress the poor by law the poor oppress the rich by violence."

Trickle down economics has destroyed our economy and reduced the working middle class to poverty and unskilled jobs. If we don't provide hope for the masses they will come for us.

THERE ARE NO private plans with no yearly or life time cap, no deductible, no co-pay, no denial based on per-existsing condition, ex. AND cheap!

AND BTW I have dealt with both - Private insurance pokes their noise in to your healthcare WAY more than Medicare does!

A few years ago my wife went on disability because of breast cancer.  She got Medicare and disability, thank God, and they spent a lot on her.

But I was self-employed at the time, and I'd been using her insurance.  So now I went off to look for insurance of my own.  All the quote I got were the same.  $750/mo.  That's just for me, not a family of six.  And a $4500 deductible--so I would still pay for all the care I actually got.  And if I got lucky enough to have a heart attack or cancer or something really expensive, then they pay HALF!  So we would still lose our house.

So yeah, a lot of people don't have health insurance.  Tens of millions of Americans are trying to raise kids on little more than minimum wage, and they don't have health insurance.

Actually the last 8 or 9 jobs I've had I couldn't. I've been working since I was a teenager, and never was able to afford insurance, except under Bush.

Even then I was too young to need it.

    I cannot afford healthcare.

When I'm injured, or sick, I self heal at home like my ancestors did.

I've dislocated my shoulder, almost cut off my thumb, fixed that with pressure, duct tape, then glue.  Lots of peroxide. Dislocated my shoulder, popped it back in place. Sprained ankle. Ice it and use crutches.

I would like to get a health exam, but cant even afford that!

Doctors and hospitals are very expensive! Insurance is crazy!

I barely make above minimum wage, and a lot of it goes to taxes, bills, food, and transportation.

    😄

Desperation. I love the smell of it. Especially, on a greedy Conservative.

😄 I felt the same way during Obamacare. But now I'm getting old and I need you to take care of me forever. 😝🤣🤣🤣🤣

You can share my medical weed supply to come. ✊🥴

Well, that's what I did. It was pretty tight at times, but I made whatever adjustments necessary to obtain quality health insurance.

Priorities and all that you know.

    No one owes me anything.
