Believe it or not, sometimes cost-benefit analysis shows that the "tough" approach costs more to do less than the "gentle" approach. The idea that tough is necessarily smart, that gentle is necessarily stupid, is a good example of overly simple thinking for overly simple minds.

It's not about feelings. It's about the math.

To some extent sure. But your question seems to have to implicit false assumptions in it. One of these is that be motivated by motion is bad. That's not necessarily the case. The other false assumption is that Republicans are not motivated by emotion. They are. In fact, if anything, Republicans tend to be motivated more by emotion hey, at least in recent years, and more motivated by the irrational sort of emotion that you seem to be referring to.

Yes. If liberals were rational like conservatives, they would believe windmills cause cancer but the corona virus is a hoax.

When it relates to Trump.... Very much so.

One of the most touchy, finger-on-the-trigger tweeters, going off on a regular rampage, going off script to vent his petty concerns, in other words, totally and completely concerned with his feelings at the expense of actually doing his job, is the current "conservative" president, Donald J. Trump.

No.  Facts, logic and evidence do, however.  That explains why reality has a liberal bias.  It's no wonder Trumplicans hate reality so much and insist on living in conspiracy theory land.
