Why do a lot of people, refuse to be honest and upfront with someone as to why they refuse to reconnect with them or talk to them again?

as in, they choose to be non-confrontive about it, they refuse to tell the person straight to their face, as to why they want nothing to do with them again or refuse to reconnect, talk to them again, instead, they just ignore the person. Their communication is absolute zero with the person who is attempting to reconnect or talk to that person again.

I went through this situation last year, it does cause me to have feelings of anger and resentment towards my former friend.

Most people actively avoid confrontation. This is generally for the protection of their own emotional health. Learning to take a hint so that not every negative thing has to spin out into open hostility is something you're going to need to learn how to do.

I wouldn't put up with that if it continued more than 3 months I'd simply move on
