Why are women so intimidated by challenges?

For what I'm saying, if a woman likes a guy, she came on to him but he turn her down at first because he didn't knew her that well at first, but later own in life, he starts to develop feelings for her and wants a loving relationship, she would reject him out of revenge all because she hated when he reject her, "that's immaturity", knowing she would of missed out on a great future husband. Women can't always be a golden prize, men should be a prize sometimes too. 

I would love to hear a story about a woman won her crush over after he gave her a second chance and the rest is history.
