My family seems in crisis...?

We aren't adapting well to this situation... There's yelling every hour/two... Sometimes very loud... I'm in my 30s, parents 65 and 70... What can help? My ma keeps snapping at me every time I come home from work, what I can/cannot touch, etc... I can't keep up w her rules... She went into extremist... I don't wanna get sick, but she's taking things too far... IMO... But the problem is my family in general, taking frustration out on each other...

What can we do to fix this...

Update:

Thanks... I'll do all that when Corona goes away, but I'm curious what had worked for others to diffuse stress...?

This is a toxic situation.  Move out as soon as possible.

You have to spray yourself with Lysol before you go inside and not touch anything until you shower and change.

Ideally you need to sit down and talk it over rationally.    But, equally, it would be no major hassle for you to go OTT with your washing, etc when you come home.

As for the yelling, hard as it will be, simply do not join in.    You cannot stop other peopole yelling, but you can stop you

    Now is not always

Your mom has good reason to worry and you have no good reason to not be concerned with infecting your parents while living in their house.  Them being older puts them more at risk.  Do you and your parents a favor and strip and wash your clothes the moment you walk in the door and jump in the shower before touching anything.  To them you are a walking threat to their lives.  Respecting your parents will ease most of the tension.  As for the rest of the tension ... play bartender and make everyone a drink.

Live alone. That’s the best thing to do even if you’re married.

What did you expect when you’re cooped up with the same people for a prolonged period of time.

It’s been 2 weeks since the state declared a shutdown and I’m going crazy even though I’m alone. I can see people going nuts sooner when they’re stuck with 2 people.

She "went into extremist"? What does that mean in English? Did you mean "extremes"?
