    Egypt was fighting two armies simultaneously: Syria from the north and Libya from the South. Every available male fought and many died. The Israelites were exempted from the Egyptian military which proves they were not slaves in Egypt. Moses lead the Israelites in looting a defenseless Egypt and escape with little resistance. The Israelites spent 40 years wandering because Egypt still controlled most countries, which left Israel with nowhere to go. When after 40 years, Syria finally defeated Egypt, Israel was accepted into other countries.

    Moses actually led the Israelites away from the promised Land: They will never have peace in Canaan.
