    Need to cover a 30 square meter of land with 1 cm deep of topsoil.

    How much soil do I need?

    Land area = 30 m^2 = 300,000 cm^2

    The amount of soil needed is 300,000 cm^3 = 0.3 m^3 (cubic meters)

    Land with an area of 30 m² might have

    dimensions of 3m x 10m.

    ..........length = 10m = 1000cm

    ..........width = 3m = 300cm

    If we want to cover the land with 1cm deep of topsoil,

    then

    ..........height = 1cm

    and the volume of topsoil needed will be

    ..........V = length x width x height

    ..........V = (1000cm)(300cm)(1cm)

    ..........V = 300000cm³ = 0.3 m³.............ANS

    30 m² x 1 cm x 1 m/100 cm = 0.3 m³
