Thoughts on keeping a prayer journal?

I've always had problems with formulating my thoughts aloud. I' much better when it comes to writing. Is keeping a prayer journal just as good as praying aloud?

Where is it written that you have to pray out loud?

Apart from the fact that in the church you can raise prayers in a normal tone because in the end the other faithful say amen?

So, throw away your diary, and if you are a believer, you can also pray in your mind, God listens to the heart, not useless voices.

Most people don't pray aloud when praying alone, and a prayer journal is an excellent way to pray.

If we want Jehovah to listen to our prayers, we must have faith in him. (Mark 11:24) The apostle Paul explains: “Without faith it is impossible to please God well, for whoever approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.” (Hebrews 11:6) But it is not enough just to say that we have faith. We need to prove our faith clearly by obeying Jehovah every day.—Read James 2:26.

We should be humble and respectful as we pray to Jehovah. Why? If we were to speak to a king or a president, we would do so in a respectful way. Jehovah is Almighty God, so shouldn’t we show even more respect and humility when we speak to him? (Genesis 17:1; Psalm 138:6) We should also be sincere and pray to Jehovah from our heart, not just repeating the same words over and over again.—Matthew 6:7, 8.

Finally, when we pray about something, we must do everything we can to work at what we are praying for. For example, if we pray to Jehovah for our daily needs, then we can’t be lazy and expect Jehovah to give us everything even though we are able to work for it. We must work hard and accept whatever job we are able to do. (Matthew 6:11; 2 Thessalonians 3:10) Or if we pray to Jehovah for help to stop doing something wrong, we must avoid any situation that could tempt us.

No. I would suggest that you keep your prayer journal and then read each entry out loud.

Sure, it’s great to have a prayer journal. You can look back and see how the Lord answers your prayers, and you can always read it aloud in prayer after it’s written down if you want.

I like writing about things God does in my life too so I can look back later and be encouraged. Also bible verses that He’s speaking to me through. And just listening and writing down what God speaks to my heart sentence by sentence is beautiful, too.

God knows you and loves you and just wants relationship with you, so go with what’s natural for you.

You don't have to pray outloud, but if you want to just write it all down, do it.

If you want to do it then do it.

    All prayer is useless.

Keep a journal of your thoughts, feelings and worries if it makes you feel better, but prayer itself has never achieved anything at all.

Only witches keep books. For a real Christian the only book in the house must be the Bible.

I don't bother with that.  I'm working on a Bible commentary.
