Can water pressure be controlled by apartment in a building?

My neighbor is driving me nuts telling me that her water pressure is lower than mine. She lives beneath me and tells me that she hears my water blasting while hers "trickles". That's actually an exaggeration on her part, but she's really driving nuts with that. It doesn't make sense to me that her water pressure is really lower than mine when we live on the same line. So, is it really possible that water pressure can vary apartment by apartment, or (at the risk of sounding disrespectful) is she just imagining things out of frustration? I mean, my water pressure isn't exactly Niagara Falls, but she won't stop harping on the issue. Thanks in advance; I'm going batty here.

Don't answer the door. Neighbours like that are trouble. If she keeps bugging you, tell her you'll call the police.

I had a neighbour next door bug me about my dryer being too loud. Granted it was a bit loud but not bad. She bullied me so much that I only did my laundry on weekdays. Now, her dryer is making the same sound. Am I bugging her? No.

Then, she had a problem with her pipes and blamed me.She and management kept bugging me and I said 'look I don't have a leak' deal with it yourself! It turned out the water was leaking through her roof and had nothing to do with my unit!

Why is she badgering you when she should be talking to the building super or management? You can't do anything about the plumbing in your building. It's entirely possible she has some line blockage or buildup in her pipes which is causing this--and that's not your job to figure out. Let her know that in no uncertain terms--and urge her to call someone who CAN do something.

If you are on your own water meters, which would mean individual apartment piping and billing, it is possible. Her valve might not be fully open in the meter box. However, If you aren't billed for water then the landlord has an issue, not you.

I find it quite intriguing that you are going batty over your neighbor's comments about her water pressure versus yours. I don't understand why that should be driving you nuts.

Every time your neighbor mentions water pressure, tell her to contact the landlord because you have no control over your landlord's real estate property's water pressure. Or, simply agree with her and say  "that could be true,  maybe I do have better water pressure than you."

I still find it very peculiar that this is weighing heavily on your mind.

the screen in your faucet probably needs to be cleaned. also her shower head. ask management if this is their responsibility or the tenant's. then tell her what you discovered.

if it is tenant's responsibility, a local handyman will do this for a reasonable charge

It's possible most apartments have a water meter for each apartment could have pressure regulator to depending on the main line pressure.  But odds are she's just crazy an is one those people that like sticking there nose in everyone's business.  Tell her to go pound sand or call the maintenance.

I'm willing to bet they know her well.

Tell her that complaining to you won't help, she needs to talk to the building manager

It depends on how many floors you are talking about.

In very tall buildings, “booster pumps” are situated every so many floors to re-pressurize upward movement of the water. It is very possible that her pressure is lower if she is just below one of these, and that yours is stronger if you are just above.

Also, there could be corrosion Or mineral buildup in your neighbor’s faucet screens and/or shower heads. She should clean/replace them to see whether that helps.

yes sorta. under the sinks and toilet there are supply valves that can be adjusted.
