Can I get weight loss surgery at 22?

I want to get weight loss surgery next year after the pandemic is over to make sure it’s safe.Im 22 and 210 pounds.I lost weight which I was 165(still over weight for height of 5’1) last year and gained it all back and than some.I have never been normal weight even in elementary school.I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto disease and high cholesterol.I never had guys approached me because of my size.I feel like that’s the only thing I can do to keep my weight down and I heard so much success from people who had it.i don’t eat a whole lot but when I do I gain weight very fast I was a size 10 now a 16-18.If I don’t lose the weight this year I’m thinking about it next year.i feel like it’s my last chance and if I don’t I’m just going to keep gaining when I’m older.

You have to consult your doctor or doctors about the possibility of surgery.

I would assume so. I don't think age is much of a factor (but I could be wrong). Just know that surgery is not a guarantee. You will lose weight but you can still gain the weight back. Surgery is not the easy way out. You still need to put in a lot of work to reach and maintain your goal weight. Surgery is more of a last resort.

Get your hashimoto disease under control if you haven't already.

    "i don’t eat a whole lot"

I doubt this. Overweight people say this all the time. I used to think the same. Then I wrote down what I ate and put all that info into Fitday and lo and behold I ate 2500 calories when I thought it couldn't be more than 1800. To get an accurate calorie count you need to weigh everything you eat. You cant use measuring cups, eyeball it or even go by a serving of "2 slices" or "half a package". Eat a calorie deficit and you will lose weight.
