    I think it depends. The newly coined phrase may be said to a person (regardless of age) in order to insinuate that the individual is out of touch with the current trends. However, usually it isn't said to those who are of younger generations, because the idea behind the comment was to associate it with the baby boomer generation, and to actually say it to those who are older. The other side of it could be that an individual looks old enough to be a baby boomer, and yet they may be a few years younger and exist in the generation x era. So, in your case, it might be that you look slightly older. Or, they may be saying it as a way to point to their feeling that you may be out of touch with the current trends of today.
