Why don’t women go back to being housewives and stay at home moms like in the 1950s?

Personally I don’t like going to work and would rather stay home to care for kids 

Because most men can't afford to have an adult partner who isn't earning a living. In the 1950's a typical middle class man could buy a house, a car and afford both a stay-at-home spouse and to put two kids though college. All those things now cost so much that only someone earning roughing double the national average (and living in a very low cost place) can do that. You can't deny that economics have made the 1950's domestic scenario largely a thing of the past.

It's called being prey to advertising and social media. All their lives women are told that they can do and be anything they want, but as the saying goes you can't have your cake and eat it too. Advertisers are telling us to buy, buy now, pay later. Social pressures to work in order to make more money in order to buy more things.

Once you want to start a family it gets difficult. It's a mixed up world where stay at home moms are looked down on by the working mom and the stay at home mom envies the working mom making money.

We've had decades of conflicting opinions on the topic to mess up the family and relationships. Ideally each gender would do what they are best at to make for happy and well adjusted children.

On the contrary, women and men are both slaves everywhere because patriarchy and capitalism still dominate the world.

Why would you want that? What if you get sick of the bitsch and divorce her? The courts would totally rule for you to pay her child support. And probably some ungodly percentage of your paycheck too since she as the wife would be on her own with no job related skills and no job to begin with. 

Also, think about this. In a society in which women didnt work. You would experience the social pressure to stay with her even if you were miserable because how is she going to survive without you or a man. 

Whether you realize it or not Mr. Manosphere Social Justice Warrior, this 1950s style society that you are yearning for would in fact oppress YOU as well. You would be stuck with a bitsch you are unhappy with. 

Now correct me if I am wrong, but most men except for the exceptionally wealthy DO NOT want to pay child support and cant afford it. 

Imagine if you tool the values of the 1950s and mixed it with todays wokeness. Divorced men would have to pay nearly half of their earnings into child support. 

It is not as cut and dry as it appears. My mother worked in the 1950s as well as did her mom; things were not just one simple way; it varied from family to family.

The only time in US history that had mom at home all kids in school was before the great crash.

In this day and age women are staying home; I stay home to take care of my family. We are not rolling in the dough we are just careful with the money we have; to us we don't need that huge house we don't need to keep up with the Jones; we don't want to keep up with the Jones. We don't care what anyone else is doing we do what we do for us not anyone else.

That trend is coming back into favor. Women have discovered what men have known for millennia. Working for someone else to earn money sucks. Working for yourself at home is much more rewarding.

Because back then the man earned enough to keep the whole family along with things being cheaper, they don't get enough to do that now mostly. Plus women these days have a wish to be equal, sometimes the man is the one with the part time job. Why don't we still live in caves? That was the original arrangement.
