What's the best product for cleaning rifles and handguns and what is the best lubricant?

What works best for dissolving carbon?

    "Liberal Tears".  Google it.  It's a real gun care product that works great.

    I have been using Parker Hale for 45 years so thats what I would recommend

    Hands down the best thing for carbon is Easy Off oven cleaner, as long as you keep it away from bare aluminum or plastic. I have noticed that here is a bias on this forum against  using anything not specifically made for guns.

    That depends, a lot of people use Rem Oil; however, there are definitely better lubricants. I use FP-10 for most of my guns, but I'll occasionally use Rem Oil if I don't have FP-10 available.

    I use Hoppe's No. 9 for cleaning and Rem Oil for lubing. I've been using both for decades and see no reason to switch as both work well.
