what is a standard tip for a haircut?

I need to know what is considered a standard tip for a human haircut ( no wash)  and also for cutting a dog's nails. The dog in question is a chihuahua that does not bite or get aggresive. i always tip my hair cutter 5 bucks for a 15 buck haircut. I'm new to the dog thing and  and tipped 5 bucks for a 5 dollar charge. It seems fair that they didn't make my puppy bleed. I appreciated that.

It would appear that not making the dog bleed would be important.

I have a very large dog.  I tip $10 on a $25 charge to clip her nails.

That's a good guideline. If they don't make the dog bleed, yes they deserve a $5 tip.
