Why is paper abiotic when it comes from a tree which is a living organism. Whilst feces is biotic which also comes from a living organism.?

He main reason is that paper is a thing that is created from a living organism whereas feces is something that comes directly from a living organism. When a tree is cut down it doesn't present itself on the ground as reams of paper or thousands of hammer handles or millions of toothpicks. All those things are made of wood but they aren't necessarily intrinsic to the tree.
