When cousins pro-create?

When two second cousins have a child together does that make the child their second cousin once removed as well as their child and the child would be his/her own third cousin?

Also if this child went on to have a child to his/her fourth cousin who was related on both sides would that cause birth defects?

The additional risk to even first cousins having children together is minimal.  For second cousins, forget about it.  As far as morals, that's up to the two of you.  For everyone else, they can mind their own business.  I don't care if it causes them to put their panties in a knot.

Am I saying there's no risk?  No, but it's a lot less than most lay people believe.  Marrying a total stranger does not equal no risk of birth defects.

There is a bloodline connection between so called second cousins, or first cousins once removed.  It's against both medical advice and majority morals to marry and procreate within the same bloodline.
