Do you consider a 6 pack an appropriate wedding gift? I don't, and if you are going by PROPER etiquette I'd say it would be said that it isn't. Why would you view pot as different? Yes as others have pointed out it is still illegal according to the Federal Govt, but that is part of why I'm saying look at it from another view. Beer doesn't have the stigma and isn't illegal at a federal level, but people would still say it is inappropriate.

1. It is still ILLEGAL per FEDERAL LAW.
2. Personally I find it inappropriate.
