How horrible would it be to pretend that your a child to a family that ran away a long time ?

For example if a child of a family ran away at 14 or younger and they would be 29 today. Somebody who looks like them a little bit pretends to be the missing child of the family.

    How horrible to whom? How horrible on what scale? It sounds pretty damned awful to me, and I don't know why anyone would do that.
