Well, you can't do that - as if it's all up to you and Jesus is prevented from relating to you until you decide to allow Him. It's the other way around, and until you waken up to your utter helplessness and need for Christ to deliver you, there will be no 'personal relationship with Him', even if you fancied the idea. Jesus has been given all those to be saved from their sins by the Father (John 17:6-26). They are called to trust in Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit who first convicts them of their sinfulness before a holy God. The initiative is always of God, leading the sinner to repentance and trusting utterly in Christ's death and resurrection to be saved. That is the start of relating to Christ in a personal way.

Until the Holy Spirit begins that work of grace in you, there will be no such relationship. You can, of course, get down on your knees and beseech the Lord to be gracious to you, a sinner, and to show you the way to salvation and becoming an adopted child of God. I suggest you read Luke ch. 18 vss 9-14, which might lead you to ask an entirely different question.

Because you are afraid to suffer after death in Hell.

You are also terrified with the thought that you are going to die and you will not see your close ones anymore, because they are too going to die.

Because you fell moral responsibility for your needs, and you feel blame for your imperfection. You feel guilt, sorrow, fear, and other uncomfortable feelings about the world, that there is so much unfairness, suffering, pain in it. You need to rationalize those facts, you need an easy answer - God will punish bad people and will reword those little children who died from the hands of maniacs and famine.

You find comfort and peace in Jesus. Because there is no essential unfairness in this paradigm. If someone suffers -he deserves it, or God will reword it later. You need it, or your psychic will not be able to deal with reality.

You are a week person, you need a strong, confident leader, who always right. He, like a father, gives you the right moral guide -thus, you don't live in doubts and torment of conscience. You just follow the instruction which is never wrong. And if it gives you indulgent to make a morally questionable deed, you may do it without remorse.

Because who can be smarter than God? If God wants you to broke relations with a friend, because he is a heretic -you must do it. Because he is evil. And you are a light. Isn't that's wonderful?

If you want to it's your choice. If you believe the words of the bible, if you believe he existed it's entirely your choice. I'd research it, research the bible, research the church you eventually want to go to and once you've done enough to satisfy yourself one way or the other, go with that choice.

Well, you want to be saved, don't you?  If not you will NOT spend eternity in heaven with God and Jesus Christ, but after you have died physically, you will be judged (Hebrews 9:27) and sent to eternal torment in the flames of fire and sulphur for eternity.  There is no salvation without Jesus Christ so HE IS the ONLY WAY to be saved (John 14:6).

"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you" (John 15:16)!

so you can have your sins forgiven and paid for by Jesus Christ (as a gift), rather than suffering for your sins yourself.

Your choice. Your step to make. No one will force you. He is the truth. Even if the world is against your beliefs . only you can make that decision. If you do take that leap of faith your not alone. Jesus is there only your heart will know. Your mind will fight you for it loves sin. That is why the bible come into action. Fill your mind will his truth. This way you will understand why so many people focus on the word of God. Jesus is the word of God. Save your soul.

It's the only way he will save you. If salvation doesn't appeal to you, then no problem, right.

John 14:6 KJV — Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
