Can anyone identify this spider? ?

    Knowing where you saw it would be helpful. Appears to be a Steatoda genus, probably Steatoda grossa or S. bipunctata, possibly S. borealis if you are far enough north. They appear very similar to black widows but lack the red hourglass on the underside of the abdomen.
